Quadriplegic sets world record for hands free typing with Swype

News - By: pdaBlast! Staff - January 31, 2011

At the Assistive Technology Industry Association Conference in Orlando, Hank Torres, a quadriplegic paralyzed from the shoulders down, set the world record in hands-free "typing" with Swype. Hank used a head tracking device to type out the following sentence in 83.09 seconds:

"The razor-toothed piranhas of the genera Serrasalmus and Pygocentrus are the most ferocious freshwater fish in the world. In reality they seldom attack a human."

Hank missed his first two tries, but then got on a roll and set the record. Unbelievable!
