Motorola to launch two Android phones on Verizon

News - By: pdaBlast! Staff - May 28, 2010

Motorola and Verizon have reached an agreement for Verizon to heavily promote two new Droid phones from Motorola. According to the Wall Street Journal, Motorola will be launching two new Android phones on Verizon in July.

Motorola has bet a lot of Google's Android operating system and hopes that high-end Android phones will kickstart their otherwise sluggish smartphone sales. Motorola co-Chief Executive Sanjay Jha told a group of investors that he's "confident about the division's goal to be profitable by year end and feels good about relationships with carriers like Verizon Wireless." He went on to say, "we will introduce new Droid products in the Verizon franchise." Unfortunately, Mr. Jha did not give any specific details about the upcoming phones.
