Nexus One cracks while charging, HTC makes excuses

News - By: pdaBlast! Staff - March 06, 2010

An interesting article came out on Crave about their brand new Nexus One's display cracking while charging. They swear the screen was cracked while quietly sitting on top of the desk. They contacted HTC's support and sent it in for HTC to look over. After examining the phone HTC says they can't find anything that would account for the screen cracking while charging.

"We're as mystified as you are," said a representative from HTC technical support.

HTC went on to suggest that cracked screens can be caused by putting the phone in your pocket. "Putting a phone in a tight pair of jeans and sitting down would usually cause the kind of damage."

Interesting. Didn't Google do a lot of testing on this thing? It's possible there was a small crack that grew over time but I would expect the guys at Crave would know how to handle a smartphone.
