BlackBerry has enjoyed security approvals from the Department of Defense for some time now. According to The Wall Street Journal, the DoD will be announcing security approvals for Samsung Galaxy handsets as well as iPhones and iPads in the next couple weeks. This is obviously great news for Apple and Samsung as both companies would like to gain more corporate clients. If they can get the government's approval it will open doors for other companies to trust their products.
Apparently Samsung's approval is due in large part to its Knox security software. It will allow Samsung phones to be used for sending and receiving internal emails.
Apple devices will be approved for non-classified use like email and web browsing.
