Samsung officially took the wraps off the Galaxy S4 last night in New York. If you watched the presentation you would have to agree that it was underwhelming and weird. It was part broadway show and part tech launch.
The phone looks great, nice specks, but not enough of a bump to get that excited about. Yes the Galaxy S4 will sell millions of units. Yes it looks better than the iPhone. Yes it is probably the best smartphone on the market right now, but we're already getting to the point where these phones are so powerful that the differences are getting smaller and smaller.
Samsung did manage to increase the screen size and speed of the device, while making it smaller and lighter than the S3. It looks more squarish, but otherwise should be very similar to the S3. To see a side by side comparison of the S4 and S3, check out engadget's post.
So, congrats to Samsung for creating a line of phones that people seem to like as much as the iPhone, but please learn how to launch your products. Go back and watch a few of Apple's launches. You don't need the broadway show element. It's cheesy!
