Electronic Arts has always been a good producer and maker of 3d games. One of its good games is the popular Real Racing. EA has released the 3rd instalment of the game for free. As of now, downloading the app is till limited to certain countries. The North American link is currently not working and the International link is only working for some folks. Although, considering the bizarre new in-app purchase upsell, you guys are not missing much.
Real Racing has always been popular because of their licensed cars. The newest instalment now gives users the chance to drive 45 different cars from renowned manufacturers such as Audi, Bugatti, Lamborghini and Porche. There are almost 900 regular events to race in the game. It also features the new time-shifted multiplayer mechanic. Ofcourse, the visuals are still excellent ever since the first instalment.
So far so good but the only let down is its insane in-app purchases. In a racing game, users focus on upgrading and maintaining their car in good condition. You need to have real-time money to buy upgrades. There is this timer-based purchase system which gets annoying the more you play the game. Buying a new car? Wait 2 minutes. Repairing the damages taken by your car from the previous race? Hmm, let’s see, wait 2hrs. In the mood to tune-up your car for a personalized taste? It will give you 3hrs of waiting time. THAT feature is annoying. No one wants to wait in the middle of their gaming mood. Of course, there are these coins which skip the waiting time. Those coins can be bought by real money. Sucks right?
The game will continue to be free and comes with a 1.7GB additional data download. The North America unavailability could be a result of last minute tweaking. It will come back again pretty soon.
