With Cyanogenmod nearing the stable release of CM10.1, AOKP is nearing there too. Today they released the latest build 4. It is an upgrade from 4.2.1 to 4.2.2 from the previous build. They have also managed to widen their target devices for the AOKP ROM.
Installing this ROM to your device is still the same. You need to download the ROM itself and its corresponding Google Apps. You just need to flash it then with the use of Recovery such as TWRP or CWM. As it is based from 4.2.2, it means that it is already available to the newer devices such as HTC One XL, Motorola Droid 4, Motorola Droid 3, Motorola Droid RAZR, Motorola Droid Bionic, Galaxy Nexus Sprint and the Motorola Droid RAZR.
Be reminded that every time you want to flash a new ROM, you need to wipe the data and reset to factory settings your device. It is not necessary to reset to factory settings if you are running an old AOKP ROM. If you are coming from other custom ROMS, resetting is still a must. It won’t boot to the newest build if you haven’t done it.
The newest build comes with several bug fixes and some stability improvements. To try the latest build, just go to AOKP team’s website and download the flashable zip to your phone. Be reminded that it is always partnered with its own Google Apps. Also check that the latest build supports your device before trying it out.
