Symantec releases Norton Mobile Security Lite app for Android

Symantec today announced the release of Norton Mobile Security Lite for Android. The app is a free antivirus and anti-theft app for Android phones. They also sell a full version of Norton Mobile Security for $30.

Much like a desktop antivirus app, the mobile app scans your files to remove any threats. The app features Norton's LiveUpdate feature, making sure you have the latest malware definitions.

Norton Mobile Security Lite can also help you lock your phone if it is stolen. The paid version allows you to locate and wipe your phone remotely.

Also in the paid version, anti phishing protection as well as the ability to block unwanted calls and texts.

Norton Mobile Security Lite is available from the Android Market.
