Nexus One won't get Ice Cream Sandwich

News - By: SPBlast! Staff - October 26, 2011

It's official. Nexus One owners will not be getting the lastest version of Android. Ice Cream Sandwich will not be coming to the Nexus One. Bummer! There is no official word on why the Nexus One is left out, but the speculation is that the lack of a graphics processor on the Nexus One is to blame.

Google's director of Android product management Hugo Barra told the Telegraph that the Nexus One will not be receiving Ice Cream Sandwich. The Nexus One, Google's flagship Android phone, is too old to get the update, according to Barra. PCWorld confirmed the news with a Google representative, who declined to elaborate.

If you want Ice Cream Sandwich you'll have to pick up a Nexus S. It will be getting Android 4.0.
