The Samsung Galaxy Tab isn't selling quite as good as the company would have you believe. Samsung first announced in December that Samsung had sold 1 million Galaxy Tabs, then in January said it had sold 2 million. It seemed like the Galaxy Tab was a real hit with consumers, but could Samsung be fudging the numbers a bit?
"But during the company’s quarterly earnings call, a Samsung executive said those figures don’t represent actual sales to consumers. Instead, they are the number of Galaxy Tab devices that Samsung has shipped to wireless companies and retailers around the world since product’s formal introduction in late September."
The Galaxy Tab is a nice piece of hardware, but it was over priced to begin with. At a smaller 7" size compared to the iPad, it simply couldn't keep up. Android is maturing quite fast so perhaps the Galaxy Tab 2 will have a shot, but the Galaxy Tab simply hasn't taken off like Samsung had hoped.
