Motorola Droid 2 now official

News - By: pdaBlast! Staff - August 10, 2010

The Motorola Droid 2 is now official. No more leaked photos and rumored specs to go over. You should be able to pick up a Droid this week as they go on sale tomorrow.

While the original Droid is getting the Froyo update treatment the Droid 2 looks much better and may be worth the upgrade. Verizon will not support the mobile hotspot feature on the original Droid and that just might be the feature you're looking for. The Droid 2 ships with Android 2.2 and does include the mobile hotspot feature, for $20 per month.

The Droid 2 also inclues Flash Player 10.1 support, and comes pre-installed with Swype, for those of you who don't like the slideout keyboard.

The Droid 2 sports a 3.7-inch multitouch display, 5 megapixel camera, 8GB of memory and a 8GB microSD card. Those are solid specs for an Android phone.

You can pick up the Droid 2 for $199.99 on a 2-year contract. Verizon should have them in store on Thursday.
