Swype keyboard beta version released

News - By: pdaBlast! Staff - June 16, 2010

Have you heard about the Swype keyboard for Android phones? If you're lucky, your phone already has Swype installed. If you're unlucky (most of us) you've only been able to read about Swype. Well, those days are over.

Swype is opening up their software to the public via an open beta program. The rumor is this beta will only be available for a few days so go get it. I just installed it and it absolutely makes typing much easier.

You can head over to beta.swype.com and sign up. The process is a little screwy. You'll have to give them an email, and create a password. They will send you a link to the download. It took a couple hours to receive my email. Once you get the install file and download it, the installation is a little weird. You think you've done the install, but then you have to click an "Open" button which makes you login to Swype. Then another install begins and you'll finally be able to use it. You can check out the installation instructions at the link below to make life easier.

If you make it through the install you'll love Swype. Awesome app for Android.
