Motorola Droid getting Android 2.1 update this week

It looks like the Motorola Droid will be updated with Android 2.1 this week. I'm sure Droid users are happy about that. Motorola let the word out on their Facebook page. They haven't confirmed what will be in the update, but engadget reports the following:

  • The current test build is Android 2.1 version 1
  • The browser will have multi-touch
  • Google Googles is pre-installed
  • No change visual changes to the homescreen or app drawer
  • Active wallpapers aren’t include, but the fancy widgets that made their debut with the Nexus One are

    The biggest news here is multi-touch but there may be other features as well. Keep your eyes peeled for the update.
