Google launches eBookstore with 3 million books

News - By: pdaBlast! Staff - December 06, 2010

The new Google eBookstore is now official. Offering over 3 millions eBooks, the Google eBooks Web Reader is compatible with most computers, tablets, and ebook readers that have a modern browser. Whether you're an Android or iOS person, you can use Google eBooks.

Google keeps your eBooks in the cloud and syncs your books (much like Amazon's Whispersync) so you can start reading on one device, and move to another device with ease.

Google says they have 3 million books offered, which combines a large library of free public domain books with paid books. Google eBooks does not appear to work with the Amazon Kindle so it will be interesting to see who keeps the lead in the eBook market. It's a crowded field and Google is a little late to the game. Stay tuned.
