Ever since Apple launched Apple Music, I've been miserable. I am an iTunes Match customer, and I never turned on Apple Music, yet my library has been messed up. When Apple first launched Apple Music several weeks ago, I ended up with multiple duplicate songs on my iPhone. After the update, I had to re-download my entire iTunes Match library on my phone, only to end up with dupes. There were also a few missing or wrong album covers too, but I managed to reset those.
Yesterday, I updated my iPhone to iOS 8.4.1 and what happened? My entire music library was empty again. I have to now download 12GB of my iTunes Match content back on my iPhone.
I'm sure Apple and its fans will say they're working out the kinks, blah, blah, blah...but I don't have time to wait for Apple to get this right, especially when I'm paying for the service. This is now the third time since the release of Apple Music that I have had to re-download my entire iTunes Match library on my phone. It takes two days and there are so many songs that fail while downloading. I have to go back in and manually re-download those tunes. I DON'T HAVE TIME FOR THIS! The frustrating thing is it was working until they screwed it up.
Google Play Music and Amazon's Music app work flawlessly. I never get dupes, all my music is there when I want it, and it works with my iPhone. What is wrong with Apple? They can't do a service right.
I'm done waiting. I'm moving my library to Google and Amazon and will probably end up using Amazon full time. There's just no downside for me. iTunes is a bloated dog, and iTunes Match no longer works reliably since Apple released Apple Music.
Sorry, Apple. I love my Apple hardware, but you just don't know how to do services. I can't think of a single Apple service that really works well. Mobile Me, iCloud, Maps, and iTunes are all subpar. Contact syncing works fairly well, but still not as good as Google's offering.
